The African name for Hoodia is Xhoba but scientists know it by its botanical name Hoodia Gordonii. It is a member of the genus belonging to the Asclepiadaceae family. Hoodoba Hoodia Gordonii was discovered by the San Tribesmen and was used to provide increased energy, suppress hunger and thirst while on long hunting trips.
